UK firm Logicalis has announced that it has successfully acquired leading IBM Cognos company Inca Software from parent company Avisen.
The Slough-based company made the announcement this morning, saying that the takeover would now allow Logicalis to become one of the first systems integrators in the UK to deliver the full selection of business transformation tools: analytics, collaboration and cloud.
It will allow the company much more scope to transform data received into information which can be of real value to public and private sector companies in the marketplace.
A figure for the acquisition has not been disclosed by the company, but in a report by Microscope, it was revealed that the company paid around £8.6 million for its latest acquisition.
Logicalis managing director Tom Kelly said: "Logicalis' acquisition of Inca Software will open a unique stream of expertise in analytics to customers, and signals our intention to bring differentiated business outcome solutions to market.
"Our expertise in business collaboration will be combined with Inca’s expertise in business analytics to help our customers become smarter organisations."
The acquisition will be complete by the end of the month.
