The firms will also set up a graduate exchange programme.

Telecoms giant Vodafone has signed a deal with Unilever, the consumer brands multinational, to manage its global mobility services for the next three years, it announced in a statement.

Vodafone Global Enterprise (VGE) will supply close to 50,000 Unilever employees with mobile devices and connectivity tools.

The firm said the deal will improve the transparency of Unilever's mobile communications spend.

VGE is the division through which Vodafone runs its big deals with multinational customers.

Additionally, Vodafone and Unilever will together develop a graduate trainee exchange programme.

"VGE looks forward to working in partnership with Unilever to help enhance the performance of the business through mobile innovation," said Nick Jeffery, VGE's chief executive.

"We are firmly committed to delivering greater value to Unilever through a range of mobility products and services designed to enhance their operational efficiency."

Recently, Vodafone announced it will sell its interests in SoftBank – a mixture of loan notes, preferred stock and share acquisition rights – back to the Japanese firm for $5 billion (£3.1 billion).ADNFCR-1833-ID-800280518-ADNFCR
