A leading telecommunications firm has announced that it will be acquiring Motally Inc, which provides mobile analytic services, which could interest those following the sector's mergers and acquisitions.
Nokia has announced that it is aiming to adapt the company's in-application tracking and reporting services for Qt, Symbian, Meego and Java.
While financial details of the transaction have not been made public, the deal is expected to be closed according to customary conditions and will be completed in the third quarter of 2010.
Marco Argenti, vice president of media at Nokia, claimed that this would better enable the firm to optimise and monetise the offering.
He said: "The acquisition underpins Nokia's drive to deliver in-application and mobile web browsing analytics to Ovi's growing, global eco-system of developers and publishers."
Last month, Nokia Siemens Networks announced that it would be obtaining some of Motorola's wireless network infrastructure assets for $1.2 billion (£770 million), which is expected to strengthen the buyer's position in the US and Japan.
