Academia, a UK-based company that supplies software, hardware and training to the education, non-profit and commercial sectors, has announced the acquisition of CWPro.
CWPro, which provides Apple pro-audio and pro-video solutions, will be added to Academia's offering under its new name, MediaPro, while the company's West London-based team and studios will be retained.
Mike Bacon, managing director of the Academia Group, said that the acquisition deal brings the potential to deliver MediaPro's solutions to the education and non-profit sectors.
"This kind of value-added acquisition fits our growth strategy and we predict a £10 million turnover over the next year as a result," he went on to say.
Earlier this month, Academia went home with three accolades from the Adobe Awards, namely Adobe Channel Partner of the Year, Adobe Education Reseller of the year and Adobe Creative Suite Reseller of the Year.
The company's clients include Crescent Purchasing Consortium, Eduserv CHEST, Scotland Excel and BECTA/OCG.
