Mobile broadcast technology company Roundbox has announced the acquisition of Jacked, Inc's technology and intellectual property.
Jacked, Inc offers broadcast-synchronised data services and has developed a platform and companion applications which deliver real-time web content synchronised to live television, including technology providing real-time access to web content.
The company's patent-pending technology will be integrated into Roundbox's Mobile Broadcast Suite to enable its broadcast and device customers to deliver enhanced experiences.
Dennis Specht, co-founder and chief executive officer of Roundbox, said that the acquisition is key to the company's strategy to expand its presence in mobile broadcasting.
"By complementing broadcast video with information-rich, tightly synchronised interactive media, information, and applications, Jacked has revolutionised the way people will experience TV," he went on to say.
In January, Roundbox announced a partnership with TitanTV, an online software and information provider to the broadcasting industry, which will allow customers using TitanTV's services to integrate the Roundbox Server.
