The Capita Group has announced the successful acquisition of Synetrix, a provider of ICT application and communications solutions to public and private sector bodies.
For a cash consideration of £75 million, the Capita Group will assume control of Synetrix's design, development and integration of converged networks business.
Synetrix's clients include the London Grid for Learning and the East Midlands Broadband Consortium, both groups made up of local authorities in the UK.
Paul Pindar, chief executive of the Capita Group, said the deal will enhance and expand the company's IT capabilities.
"With the acquisition of Synetrix we will gain a number of key new customers and our enlarged IT services business will benefit from new expertise in a range of areas that support existing capabilities," he added.
In November last year, Capita Symonds acquired engineering consultancy Multi-Tech Contracts, whose clients include National Grid and Northern Gas Networks, for an undisclosed amount.
