Two major Canadian companies have announced a merger deal with a view to creating one of the country's largest providers of IT solutions.

Metafore, which has more than 20 years of experience in the IT business, is expected to merge with Microserv during the first quarter of 2010, after which the combined entity will continue to trade as Metafore.

Following the merger deal, the new Metafore will offer multi-platform IT expertise, providing a wide range of hardware, software and services, from design and procurement to implementation, management and support.

"Customers will benefit from the tremendous breadth and depth of products and services available from the merged company's team of over 1,000 IT professionals," commented Michel Lacasse, Microserv's vice-president and general manager.

It follows news that demand chain management software provider JDA Software has closed its offering of $275 million (£169 million) in senior notes, the proceeds of which it intends to use for its proposed acquisition of i2 Technologies.ADNFCR-1833-ID-19511673-ADNFCR
