Financial services software provider SS&C Technologies has announced that it has acquired TheNextRound, a provider of software for the private equity and alternative investment communities.
As well as extending SS&C's private equity software offerings, the transaction also adds TheNextRound's flagship product, TNR Solution - an enterprise product that supports the full breadth of front to back office capabilities - to its range.
Bill Stone, chairman of SS&C, said that the acquisition makes the company well-positioned to offer a comprehensive end-to-end management solution to the private equity community.
"SS&C's global presence and financial strength in the alternative investment segment will enhance TNR's position as a strong leader and allow us to retain our technology edge and provide better support for our clients," added Vipul Minocha, president of TheNextRound.
In October 2008, SS&C acquired the assets of Micro Design Services, a specialist in real-time order routing and execution services for global exchanges.
