CDC Software Corporation, which provides enterprise software applications and services, has announced the acquisition of Canadian-based business intelligence firm Activplant Corporation.
Activplant's solutions are installed at more than 200 plants around the world, including some prominent automotive and food companies, helping managers to focus on key issues within their facilities.
The acquisition is expected to create new cross-selling opportunities for CDC in the automotive market, while expanding its footprint in the food and consumer packaged goods market.
Bruce Cameron, president of CDC, commented: "We expect this to be an accretive acquisition and fits within our strict valuation criteria.
"We believe Activplant will help CDC Software take a leadership role in the packaged MOM applications market."
It is the latest of several strategic acquisitions by CDC, which earlier in the year included WKD Solutions, while last month the firm announced that plans to acquire two Software-as-a-Service companies were under discussion.
