Eliza Corporation, which provides integrated healthcare communication strategies, has completed the acquisition of social networking platform developer Sprigley.
The acquisition, which will be followed by the integration of the relevant software, combines Eliza's multi-platform outreach capabilities with Sprigley's Web 2.0 programs, including a personal recommendation engine and web-based platform.
Under the terms of the deal, Sprigley co-founder Joshua Rosenthal will be retained to advise Eliza on product engagement and oversee the development of data-driven approaches.
Alexandra Drane, president and co-founder of Eliza, said the deal will give "unprecedented insight" into the attitudes, motivations and behaviours of the firm's customers.
"With this partnership, we're bringing together two companies with a shared philosophy: healthcare communication is most effective when it interacts with people as individuals," she commented.
Ms Drane recently joined healthcare experts in Nashville, Tennessee for a public discussion on the implied costs of proposed reforms to the US healthcare system.
