Information technology and business process reengineering firm Altron has completed a merger with Provident Analysis Corporation.

The merged company, which will trade under the Altron name, now provides logistics management, secured administrative support and software/systems engineering services, putting it in a position to branch out into the government services industry.

"With the increased growth that we have experienced, this merger is the next natural step for us to take towards increasing our competitiveness and continually expanding our business in the government IT sector," commented Mike Gercken, Altron's vice-president of IT Solutions.

Following the merger agreement, the new company employs nearly 200 associates across five different states and the District of Columbia.

Last year, Altron announced that it was to provide financial systems support for a five-year, $77.8 million (£48.8 million) contract for the Naval Sea Command Comptroller's Office.

Under the contract, the company will assist the Navy by performing annual site reviews at headquarter organisations.ADNFCR-1833-ID-19402661-ADNFCR
