Electronic hardware and software design firm Mentor Graphics Corporation has announced the acquisition of LogicVision after the latter's stockholders voted to approve their previously-announced merger.
Logicvision is a provider of Built-in-Self-Test technologies for testing System-on-Chip designs, which is expected to complement Mentor's Automated Test Pattern Generation and embedded test pattern compression technology.
Walden C Rhines, chairman and chief executive officer of Mentor Graphics, said the deal allows the firm's customers to maintain high product quality and test standards while reducing manufacturing costs.
"We believe the combination of the Mentor and LogicVision silicon test solutions will enable them to address all aspects of their full-chip test requirements with a unified test platform," he commented.
LogicVision resources will be fully integrated into the Silicon Test Solutions group within the Mentor Design-to-Silicon division.
The deal was first announced in May of this year, when Mentor Graphics signed a definitive agreement to acquire LogicVision for approximately $13 million (£8.03 million)
