A merger agreement has been announced between internet audio ads management firm Ando Media and software developer Spacial Audio Solutions.

The deal is hoped to accelerate the development of the streaming audio marketplace, combining Ando Media's expertise in terrestrial audience measurement and ad replacement with Spacial Audio's automation, ad-insertion and other digital services to pure-play webcasters.

Bob Maccini, chief executive officer of Ando Media, commented: "This merger brings together the strength of Ando's more terrestrial customer base with Spacial's large internet-only base.

"Together, we now are working across the entire spectrum to drive the streaming audio category to new levels."

Although both brands will continue to operate as separate entities, the companies are engaged in strategic planning to optimise resources and product offerings.

In April Ando Media announced plans to extend its agreement with Katz Online Network, whereby Katz will continue to utilise webcast metrics as its standard audience measurement platform.ADNFCR-1833-ID-19315844-ADNFCR
