SCH Distribution (SCHd), a division of Europe's largest independent technology firm, has acquired Citrix distributor IQ Sys.
By combining IQ Sys with its already considerable position in the market, SCHd claims it will become the overall market leader in the UK, accounting for over 60 per cent of Citrix sales.
The firm plans to retain and develop the IQ Sys identity, which will trade alongside its other distribution brands.
Paul Eccleston, director of SCH Group, said the deal will assist the firm's strategy of expanding its distribution business in specialist areas.
"As a result of this deal we have enhanced our ability to support our reseller partners in taking the best and latest solutions to their customers to maximise sales opportunities," he continued.
Last year saw Marathon and Citrix team up with IQ Sys to distribute the UK's first protected desktop-to-datacentre virtualisation solution, with IQ Sys distributing Marathon's entire range of everRun products.
