Medical IT firm System C Healthcare has completed the acquisition of Liquidlogic, which provides software and services to the social care sector.
The deal, valued at £14.2 million, will create the first major company in the UK to specialise in both health and social services solutions.
Ian Dentley, chief executive of System C, said the acquisition forms an "exciting group" which is well-placed to respond to an ageing population.
"Not only does the expanded company have excellent prospects in the health market and the social care sector, but it is perfectly positioned to support the government's drive to provide integrated care," he commented.
Liquidlogic has over 43,000 users who work across a variety of service sectors, including children's and adult social care and a range of NHS organisations.
System C recently showcased its latest clinical intelligence technology at a national dashboard conference held in Manchester on July 6th.
