Belfast-based telecoms provider Aepona has announced the acquisition of Valista, a Dublin firm which provides payment and service management solutions to mobile and broadband operators.
Aepona said the acquisition, which has come into effect immediately, creates a powerful vendor of 'Network as a Service' solutions which telecoms firms are seeking globally.
Al Snyder, chief executive officer of Aepona, said that such firms understand that in order to remain competitive they need to open up their assets towards third parties in a secure and billable manner.
"For some time now, operators have recognised the need to adopt a more collaborative approach to working with organisations such as enterprises and web-based service providers," he added.
Aepona's client list now includes some of the world's major players in the mobile and broadband market.
Earlier in the year the firm won a contract from Denmark telecoms company TDC to supply a new 'Network as a Service' platform.
