Two of Northern Ireland's best-known innovation and technology firms have announced a six-figure merger which is hoped to form a dynamic new business.
Engineering technology company Northern Innovation and software designer R&R Power have come together with the aim of revolutionising the manufacturing processes, the Press Association reports.
The merged company has a number of blue-chip clients on its books in Northern Ireland and abroad and says clients will now benefit from expanded services.
Entrepreneur Owen Lamont, co-founder of Northern Innovation, told the news provider that the partnership will strengthen Northern Ireland's manufacturing base.
"The merger of these two companies marries the so-called 'old industries' which are largely manufacturing based, with the exciting 'new industries' which centre on technology and software development," he added.
Mr Lamont also chairs StirkLamont, a successful group of companies working in the information technology, mobile communications and security sectors, and is a former board member of Invest Northern Ireland.
