India-based IT services provider HCL Technologies has won a huge business process outsourcing (BPO) deal with the document management firm Xerox.
The six-year contract is worth $100 million (£68.2 million) and will see HCL provide services such as business continuity and disaster recovery expertise.
Also included as part of the tie-up, HCL will manage data centre hosting and migration, virtualisation, consolidation and storage architecture services across North America and Europe.
Finally, the Indian IT firm will provide architecture and consulting services for new technology and system design, adoption and lifecycle improvement.
John McDermott, chief information officer at Xerox, commented that HCL has demonstrated its "leadership position".
"Data centre environments are the heart of our business operations and we look to partner with companies that can manage our centres and take them to the next level," he added.
Founded in 1976, HCL is one of India's original garage IT firms and now employs over 50,000 worldwide.
