Integral Systems has purchased intellectual rights and other assets from the UK-based technology firm QinetiQ.
The property comes from QinetiQ's satID line, used by satellite operators to geolocate the origin of satellite interferers, jammers and unauthorised users, ensuring continued quality of satellite service.
Integral itself has used satID in one of its schemes - it will now become a part of Integral Systems' Space Communications group.
QinetiQ provides technology and responsive services to government agencies and commercial customers.
In a separate agreement, Integral and QinetiQ are to work together on teaming arrangements on existing programmes as well as explore future schemes.
John Higginbotham, chief executive officer of Integral Systems, comments: "We are pleased to have on-going access to the excellent engineering skills of QinetiQ in the UK and we are delighted to pursue a working relationship with QinetiQ North America for key defence and intelligence community customers."
Integral provides satellite ground systems, tracking, controlling and analysing the information gathered by satellites.
