Open Text has acquired business process management (BPM) solutions provider Global 360 Holding Corp for $260 million (£163 million).
Canada's largest software company announced that the acquisition of Texas-based Global 360 is part of its attempts to expand its presence in the lucrative BPM market.
"Many global organisations - about 60 per cent - already connect their enterprise content management and BPM projects under a single strategy," said John Shackleton, president and chief executive of Open Text.
"Customers are moving in this direction and we are accelerating our investment in leading content, process and case management solutions as a result."
Global 360 generated around $90 million in trailing 12-month revenue and is profitable, according to Open Text.
Earlier this year, the Canadian firm purchased BPM provider Metastorm for $182 million and, coupled with the most recent deal, will result in Open Text adding a further 300 workers in its research and development division.
